கரி பல்கலாச்சார,பாரம்பரிய அமைச்சின் செயலாளரானார்!

ஸ்காபுரோ-ரூஜ்பார்க் தொகுதியில் கடந்த தேர்தலில் லிபரல் கட்சி சார்பில் போட்டியிட்டு வெற்றி பெற்ற  கரி ஆனந்தசங்கரி அமைச்சராகும் வாய்ப்புடையவர் என்று பலராலும் கருதப்பட்டவர். ஆனாலும் அது நடைபெறவில்லை. பின்பு அமைச்சரவை மாற்றங்கள் நடைபெற்ற வேளைகளில் மீண்டும் அது குறித்த ஊகங்கள் எழுந்திருந்தன. ஈற்றில் அந்த எதிர்பார்ப்பு முழுமையாக நிகழாத போதிலும் அமைச்சின் செயலாளராகும் படிநிலை முன்னேற்றம் நிகழ்ந்துள்ளது. பல்கலாச்சார, பாரம்பரிய அமைச்சின் செயலாளர் கரிக்கு ”நாளை” தனது வாழ்த்துகளைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறது!

இந்த நியமனம் குறித்துப் பாராளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் கரி ஆனந்தசங்கரி அவர்கள் வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறிக்கை!

I am incredibly humbled and honoured to have been asked by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to serve as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism, the Honourable Pablo Rodriguez.

This is a very important day for my family. Thirty-five years ago today, my mother and I landed at Montreal’s Mirabel International Airport. That day has been etched in my heart forever, and that experience of being a refugee to Canada has guided my work all these years. It is very hard to imagine that that refugee would one day be asked to serve Canada in such a profound way and meaningful way. This can only happen in Canada.

I just want to take a moment to thank all the people who have played an important part in my life: my family, my friends, my staff, and my constituents. The people of Scarborough-Rouge Park entrusted me to be their Member of Parliament and to represent them. I will continue to work day and night to represent their interests in Ottawa.

As I accept this new role, I am guided by the values this country has taught me: Inclusiveness, Diversity, Multiculturalism and Equality. This new role will enable me to bring my experience and perspective to defend these important values and to ensure that our country remains an open country where we look at people’s differences as a source of strength and not as a weakness. I will defend these values each and every day, and work hard towards strengthening our country, and building a more just society.
